Boy Abunda renewed his contract with GMA

King of Talk Boy Abunda spoke about his contract renewal with GMA after almost three years since he returned to the Kapuso network.



Boy has spent decades in the entertainment industry. He is now one of the icons when it comes to hosting. He started his career in the Kapuso network. However, he transferred to ABS-CBN and spent many years doing shows under the Kapamilya network,

In 2022, Tito Boy returned to GMA. After signing his contract, he was given an afternoon timeslot for his Fast Talk with Boy Abunda show.

This show has become part of the afternoon habit of many Filipinos and it has catered to many celebrity guests who shared glimpses of their showbiz and personal lives.

On February 18, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, Tito Boy signed a new contract with his home network. Also present during the contract signing event were GMA President and CEO Gilberto Duavit Jr. and Senior Vice President of the Entertainment Group Miss Lilybeth Rasonable.

In his speech, the veteran talk show host said, “This has always been my home. Hindi ako nahirapan bumalik sa GMA 7 because dito ako nag-umpisa.”

He also said that he did not expect that he would be in the field of hosting. Before becoming the King of Talk, Tito Boy was working under GMA Films promoting the iconic movies “Jose Rizal” and “Muro Ami,” He said that this was one of the proudest moments he had in the industry.

Then, the GMA management saw that he had the potential to be on a talk show. “I was here and I was over talking, they noticed that there was a possibility that I could have done talk shows. So umuwi lamang ako at nang ako ay bumalik, hindi ako nahirapan,” the veteran TV host said.

Mr. Duavit said that he and Tito Boy have been friends for many years and what resonated with him was that time went the TV host stayed the course and redefined nit himself.

“You are a testament to what the value or benefit of the virtues really are,’ the GMA executive, adding that it is still important for Boy Abunda to have his integrity and prioritize the feelings and thoughts of the people he talks to.
