Male Netizen w/ Cleft Palate Receives Overwhelming Free Operation Offers

FREE OPERATION – A male netizen with a cleft palate received a lot of free surgery offers after posting an edited photo.

A cleft palate is a condition present at birth where there is an opening in the roof of the mouth. This happens when the tissues in the upper part of the mouth don’t form properly while a baby is developing in the womb.

It can occur on its own or along with a cleft lip, which is a similar split in the upper lip. Fortunately, cleft palate can be treated with surgery, which is usually done in early childhood to repair the opening.

Recently, James Paulo Dumael Tadeo, a Facebook user born with a cleft palate, sought help editing his photo in a group called “Free Edit PH. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.

In his post, Tadeo simply wanted to see what he would look like without the condition. He shared a photo of himself and asked group members to edit out his cleft palate, hoping to visualize himself with a regular smile.

Several group members responded, including a user named Marimar Aquino, who shared an edited version of James’s photo.

James was surprised by the outpouring of support from strangers offering to fund or arrange free surgery for him.

For James, surgery had always been a dream, but financial limitations prevented him from pursuing it. Touched by the overwhelming generosity, he expressed his gratitude to those who extended their help.
