Veteran columnist Cristy Fermin confirmed the long-time rumor about the decision of late actor Rico Yan’s family not to let Claudine Barretto peek at the coffin of her ex-boyfriend.

During her online show “Showbiz Now Na,” Cristy revealed that Yan’s family didn’t allow Claudine to go near Rico’s casket during his wake and only asked the veteran columnist to help her talk to the late actor.

“Noong nakaburol si Rico Yan sa De La Salle Greenhills, hindi rin pinalalapit si Claudine noon ng pamilya ni Rico Yan eh. Bawal siyang sumilip doon sa kabaong,” said Cristy.

“Ang nangyari noon para lamang makausap ni Claudine si Rico, nakiusap siya sakin, ‘Nay pwede po ba ‘yung telepono niyo ay pakitapat niyo sa tenga ni Rico sa loob ng kabaong.

“Alam mo matagal kong tiniis ‘yun, matagal na panahon ‘yon, talagang habang nagsasalita siya nakikinig ako at humahagulgol siya. ‘I love you so much, I’m sorry’ itinatapat ko ‘yun sa tenga ni Rico Yan habang nasa kabaong,”

According to Cristy, Claudine received criticism from the public, who blamed her for what happened to Rico.

However, Claudine kept her silence and didn’t respond to criticism from the public.

That’s why Cristy was not happy with the claims made by Sabrina.

“Gaano kakapal ang mukha ng isang tao na kayang mag-imbento tungkol sa isang pumanaw na hindi na kayang idepensa ang sarili,” said Cristy.

There were reports that Claudine was already dating Raymart Santiago before Rico’s passing.
