It may have been a couple of weeks already since she was hailed as the Big Winner of “Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11,” but Sofia “Fyang” Smith confessed to ABS-CBN News reporter Jeffrey Hernaez during her guesting in the latest episode of “Tao Po” that being a celebrity hasn’t completely sunk in to her yet.
According to her, it was her “super dream” to make it to PBB, so she really made sure to impress just on the auditions! However, she actually got scared when she came inside the Big Brother’s house as she assumed that the people would not accept her being straightforward and palaban.
Since this was the case, she admitted that there were times when she thought that she would be the one to get evicted after being nominated for consecutive times. But she felt the readiest to get out during that week when she was nominated alongside Rain Celmar and JP Cabrera, so she recalled packing all of her stuff.
Just like how she was inside Bahay ni Kuya, Fyang also never retreated from the challenges that she and her family had to face in the outside world. Contrary to what some people believe in that she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, she told Jeffrey that there was actually a time when their family only had salt as their viand and her mom had to pawn her jewelries to make both ends meet. She also tried working at the charcoal business of her aunt in order to earn extra money that she could buy food for herself and her younger brother.
Jeff also had the chance to speak with Fyang’s mom, Myrna Smith, who couldn’t help herself from getting emotional as they tackled how she was able to singlehandedly raise her two kids. It might have been tough, but she just held on to her faith that their life would get better someday.
Thus, now that she’s blessed with a great opportunity to help them, she vows to work hard for her to be able to provide them a better life and grant every wish of her beloved sibling.
Aside from giving them the life they’ve ever dreamt of, she’s also ready to prove everyone that she has what it takes to be in the local entertainment scene. However, unlike other neophytes, she aspires to become a kontrabida rather than a bida since she’s confident that she can pull it off.
If given the chance, she would love to work alongside Kathryn Bernardo yet she would not dare lift a finger to her even though she will be instructed to do so. However, she’s very willing and ready to be slapped as long as it wouldn’t be painful.
Meanwhile, she regards Andrea Brillantes as her ultimate idol when it comes to playing kontrabida roles due to her compelling acting performances in her past project. Besides, it was also from the Kapamilya actress whom Fyang got her “taray-mata.”
Furthermore, she tagged “Pamilya Sagrado” lead actor as her ultimate crush.
Naging very mindful at considerate si Fyang talaga sa ibang tao, na akala niya hindi niya magagawa before,” she imparted when asked about the most important thing that happened to her after joining PBB.
Their conversation capped off with Fyang expressing her utmost and sincere gratitude to her strong legions of supporters. She said, “Nakakataba ng puso na talagang kilala nila ako.
