Kapamilya Actress Maris Racal’s statement on December 6, 2024, went viral on social media after she finally ended her silence on her leaked conversation with Anthony Jennings.

Maris said during her appearance that she was unaware that Anthony was still in a relationship when she started talking intimately to him.

“So I was confident to act a certain way around him on the set. Because in the eyes of the people there, we were both single, I would ask him. God knows I asked him, ‘Nagkabalikan ba kayo?’ He said ‘no.’ ‘Do you still love her?’ He said ‘no.’ He would say things na ako ang gusto niya and all,” said Maris.

However, netizens raised doubts about Maris’s claims, saying that the leaked conversation contradicted what the actress said.

Even Boy Abunda was not convinced by Maris’ statement.

Meanwhile, netizens also noticed that Maris was reading a paper while addressing the public, making them speculate that someone else crafted her statement.

But Maris’ fans defended the actress, saying that anyone in the entertainment industry knew that a statement must be prepared by talents beforehand when trying to address their issues.
