21 May – Liza Soberano recently revealed that it was her desire to help alleviate the family’s status in life that made her decide to join showbiz back when she was 12.

As reported on Push, the actress who was interviewed about her career in the entertainment industry, shared that she first saw the rough condition of her family’s life in the Philippines back when she was ten.

“I saw that as an opportunity to be able to help, to help my dad and my siblings. My motivation ever since then has been to bring all my siblings under one roof,” she said.

It is noted that Soberano had lived with her grandparents in the United States since at a young age, and was separated from the rest of her siblings due to their situation.

She then started modelling at the age of 12 upon her return to Manila, before securing an agent in the likes of Ogie Diaz when she was 13.

“Being an artist is really hard. You face judgement from a lot of people that you don’t necessarily know and you get criticised for doing something that you hope will inspire or make other people happy. It’s not easy but my motivation has driven me to work extra hard and to not give up because I know that there are people that count on me,” she said.
