‘The Fight of my Life’: Kris Aquino back in PH for chemo sessions

MANILA – Actress and TV host Kris Aquino is now back in the Philippines, years after staying abroad to seek treatment for an autoimmune illness.

This was confirmed to ABS-CBN News by her good friend Len Alonte Friday morning.

“Just landed Manila. Yes, she’s back,” Alonte shared.

In an Instagram post on Thursday afternoon, Aquino said she decided to go home to start her second immunosuppressant infusions or chemotherapy.

She earlier said she had been diagnosed with autoimmune thyroiditis, chronic spontaneous urticaria, Churg Strauss/EGPA, systemic sclerosis, and lupus.

She added she will need “the encouragement and unwavering faith my sisters (and) cousins, closest friends, and trusted team of doctors can provide…Sadly, what was the battle to improve my health is now the struggle to protect my vital organs.”

“This is now the FIGHT OF MY LIFE.”

She also said  that she is flying with son Bimby, whom she considers God’s biggest blessing to her and her source of strength.

In a previous interview, Aquino’s son Bimby hinted that his mom might go home for good in September or October.

Last June, Aquino shared of a new romance with a Makati-based doctor who inspired her more to return to the country.

“He’s part of the reason why I’m confident na puwede akong umuwi kasi alam ko na there’s someone who will help in taking care of me,”  Aquino said.
