Emanuelle Atienza receives another backlash for dragging Nadine Lustre in statement video

Kim Atienza’s youngest daughter, Emmanuelle Atienza is yet again getting flamed as social media users called her out for mentioning Nadine Lustre in her statement video.

In her response video to the backlash on her “guess the bill” TikTok challenge, she called out digital media company Republic Asia for putting a “check your privilege” slide on the end of a now deleted post. “First of all, I’ve been so honest about the privileges that I’ve been given and the privilege that I have in my life […] and on top of that I’m also very open to the fact that I’m a “nepo baby.” I’m not ignorant, nor do I deny the privilege that I’ve been given,” she said.

Atienza then went on to exemplify Nadine Lustre getting praised on her photo in a Bvlgari event in which she emphasized that it is a luxury jewelry brand. “If you’re gonna hate on me for being rich, you need to do the same for everyone because guess what, your favorite celebrities not just in the Philippines but worldwide […] because your favorite celebrities make more, have more, and spend more than I ever have,” she continued to say.

She went on and said that posts like Republic Asia’s “does nothing for the advocacy that you’re trying to be an activist for.”

Various social media users from X (formerly known as Twitter) had different takes on hw they called her out for using Lustre as an example.

One user said “She was modeling some Bulgari pieces because it was WORK (a concept that’s probably foreign to you). Even her purse was from an online retailer. And republicasia was praising her looks.  Again, something that’s probably alien to you.”

Another user said “…And to compare herself to Nadine Lustre who actually pulled herself from her bootstraps and started out doing bit parts as a child?The nerve of this non-entity. Without her dad, who exactly is she?”

Some X users also posted humorous tweets in response to her statement video. “‘wag mong idamay at igaya si nadine sayo ate nagte-take out nga yan ng pagkain sa handaan,” one user tweeted.

Emmanuelle is one of Kim’s children with his wife Felicia, who also include Jose and Eliana.
