Kathryn Bernardo on vaping issue

After a video of her went viral last month which allegedly shows her in possession of a vape pen, actress Kathryn Bernardo said she was more bothered by the invasion of privacy more than anything else after it was uploaded without her permission by a netizen.

“Well una, sad ako na may video about it. Kasi parang inano yung privacy ko. But then, it happens,” she told the press during a presscon for her upcoming Star Cinema film A Very Good Girl which opens in theaters on September 27.

The 27-year-old actress shrugged off mixed reactions online about her assumed habit, as she has already become more verbal about wanting to step out of her girl-next-door persona and explore darker and more complicated roles.

In her latest film, she plays the role of Philo, a mysterious girl who makes her way into the glamorous yet shady secret life of Mother Molly (played by Dolly de Leon) with an elaborate plan of revenge that becomes more complicated than she anticipated.

Kathryn said people can assume all they want about the viral video, but won’t let their comments faze her.

“So okay lang kung nangyari na and kung ginagawa ko yun or hindi ko ginagawa, ginagawa ko lang ba yun sa movie, hindi naman nun dini-define yung pagkatao ko (laughs). It won’t make me less of a person.”

The Star Magic artist also wanted to remind her fans that even as public figures, celebrities also need and crave for their personal space, especially when off camera.

“So I guess depende na yun sa mga tao. But abangan niyo na lang din yung movie and sana it won’t happen again kasi kailangan din namin sometimes yung privacy and personal space namin,” she said.
