Tom has been generous enough to share glimpses of his personal life. One of the hottest topics about his life was his separation from his ex-wife actress Carla Abellana.

Just recently, the hottest rumor about him was that he is now a father. Speculations surfaced that he now has a son. In a recent interview, Tom Rodriguez finally confirmed this. He said that he never hid his son from his current partner and he is telling the story every time he would be asked about this.

In the same interview for his new movie Huwag Mo ‘Kong Iwan, based on the article in PEP, he was asked about the most painful goodbye he said.

The actor said that it was saying goodbye to his partner. “Pinakamasakit? Nung when I had to come back to work here, na iniwan ko yung mag-ina ko. Ang hirap! Dun ko naranasan na ano, parang reverse OFW ako. Ang hirap pala kaya hindi ko kaya!” he said.

Tom also said that he experienced what many overseas Filipino workers feel when they are away from their loved ones but he said that this is more intense than his experience.

He said that even though for a short time, it was difficult for him to be away from his partner and son. However, when he thinks about his little family, he gets inspired to do a lot of things. Tom also does not feel tired to finish what he needs to do when he is thinking about his loved ones.

Tom Rodriguez said that this goodbye is not a bad thing because he can return home to his partner and son. He shared that there is a silver lining in what he went through in the past. The actor said that what happened to him now would not have happened if he had not gone through those things in the past.
