In an emotional and heartfelt conversation with Boy Abunda, the renowned actress Bea Alonzo opened up about love, patience, and self-worth.
When asked by Boy if she was hoping to find love again or if she sometimes depended on men for happiness, Bea candidly responded:
“I wouldn’t say I depend on men for happiness. It’s just that… honestly, at the beginning, the hardest thing for me to let go of was trust. When I love, I love deeply, without holding back. That’s just who I am, and I don’t regret it. I’ve realized I should never apologize for the way I love, because that’s me.”
Boy continued by asking if she was still open to falling in love, to which Bea replied with unwavering optimism:
“I’ve never lost hope in love, that’s all I can say. I’ve always been a hopeless romantic and I still believe there’s someone out there meant for me.”
When Boy probed further about what kind of man she envisions next in her life after everything she’s been through, Bea responded:
“Definitely not someone from showbiz… I’m really done with public relationships. I’ve learned my lesson the hard way. I pray for someone who is man enough to handle all of me—the good and the bad. Someone who will love me unconditionally and who will never give up on me.”
Bea’s reflections on patience and self-worth struck a chord with many. Too often, we feel pressured to settle, thinking we need a relationship to feel happy or validated. But as Bea expressed, the most fulfilling relationships are born out of a sense of self-wholeness, not dependency.
There’s no shame in waiting for a love that feels right. Being single or taking time to heal isn’t a failure—it’s a powerful choice. True love doesn’t require you to lose yourself or settle for less just to feel “complete.” Instead, it’s about embracing who you are and trusting that the right person will love you fully, imperfections and all.
To all the singles out there reading this:
Trust your journey, keep your standards high, and believe that love, when it comes, will be worth the wait.
