(SPOT.ph) It was only this week when Nadine Lustre gave a few teasers about her latest movie called Ulan—which is about self-love and acceptance and will be directed by Irene Villamor (Camp Sawi, Meet Me in St. Gallen). Lustre also opened up about not working on the project with love-team artner (and real-life boyfriend) James Reid. “It’s just work. So parang, kung ano ‘yong makakapagpabuti sa isang project—I mean, I trust Viva [Entertainment] naman,” she says. At the time, her new onscreen partner was yet to be named, but in a press conference held by Viva Entertainment on June 20, it was revealed that it will be none other than Xian Lim.

Both Lustre and Lim have been busy with their own projects lately. Lustre recently released Never Not Love You with Reid and did a world tour with him as well. Plus, she also launched her own makeup collection. As for Lim, he’s been busy working behind the scenes, as he just submitted a script he wrote to Cinemalaya 2019. Still, it looks like the two aren’t too busy to work on a new movie together.

In an Instagram post on June 13, director Villamor reveals that she’s been working on the story of Ulan every time it rains. “Kada umuulan, nagre-revise ako nitong script na nagsimula sa isang maikling kwento sinulat ko maraming taon na ang nakaraan,” she shares. That’s why the pages of the script have slowly turned yellow with time. “Ngayo’y naninilaw na ang mga pahina. Pero buo pa rin ang mga pangarap ko habang bagyo, paglalakad nang mag-isa habang bumabaliktad ang payong at tinatangay ng hangin ang dating manipis kong katawan…at isang beses na minsan sumilip ang araw habang ambon.” And now, she says, she’s ready to return to the story, which is her first love. “Ngayon, muli kitang binabalikan. Dahil ikaw ang una kong pag-ibig. Ang unang sipon at lagnat.”

There’s no word yet on when the movie is set to be released, but joining Lim and Lustre on the project are Marco Gumabao and AJ Muhlach.
