Judy Ann Santos shared memoried in her showbiz journey

Drama superstar Judy Ann Santos revealed the talent fee that she received when she was doing the hit 90s series Mara Clara.

Juday’s career in the entertainment industry started when she was just a little girl. From being a child star, she was given a chance to star in one of the most successful teleseryes in the history of Philippine television.

Now, she is one of the most prominent actresses in the industry and her journey in showbiz became an inspiration to the younger artists.

In a recent interview on Ogie Diaz’s YouTube channel, the award-winning actress talked about what she went through during her younger years in the entertainment industry. She said that back then, they didn’t have air-conditioned tents and their own glam team.

Judy Ann Santos was used to inconveniences on the set. With this, she said that artists who started their careers years ago are indeed stronger in all aspects than the younger generations of stars now.

During the interview, Juday also recalled that time when she was doing the series Mara Clara with Gladys Reyes. She said that she enjoyed being on the set and she can’t say that she was deprived of her childhood since she started at a young age.

The actress said that the set became her playground and the people behind the camera became her playmates. “Na-enjoy ko talaga siya,” she said, adding that she was indeed happy.

At a young age, she already understood their financial situation. She had to work to pay for their needs. Juday, together with her mom and siblings worked and helped each other. The actress said that they were not so poor back then, but they only had enough for food and for travel.

Then, she shared the amount that she got as her talent fee back then. “Magkano lang naman ang sweldo ko bilang artista noon araw, P500,” Juday said, adding that this was per taping.

She also mentioned, “Sa Mara Clara ang sweldo ko per day P1,500.” Even though she was the lead star of that series, Juday said that she never questioned what she received at that time. She did not pity herself also that she only got that amount.

Judy Ann Santos stressed that she was just working. The actress even had no idea that she could raise her rate.
