Here’s Snooky Serna’s Birthday Gift To Nora Aunor
Nora Cabaltera Villamayor, better known by her stage name Nora Aunor, is a Pinay actress, singer, and producer. Aunor has made appearances in a number of theater productions, TV series, and musical performances.
The Hollywood Reporter dubbed her “The Grand Dame of Philippine Cinema” for her performances in the films Taklub (Trap) and Hustisya (Justice), as well as for her contributions to the Philippine film industry. She is regarded as Philippine cinema’s “Superstar” and was awarded the title of National Artist of the Philippines for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022.
Nora Aunor celebrated her birthday together with her five children, including her biological son Ian de Leon as well as Lotlot de Leon, Kiko, Kenneth, and Matet de Leon, who she and her then-partner, actor Christopher de Leon, adopted.
Ian displayed an audio-visual presentation about his mother, complete with images, films, and annotations. He recited the poem “Mom’s Love.” Meanwhile, Lotlot wrote her mother a loving letter.
Based on a report from Inquirer, actress Snooky Serna gave Nora Aunor a very special gift when the latter celebrated her 70th birthday on Saturday, May 20, at a hotel in Quezon City.
The gift, which came from Serna, one of her guests, was a framed portrait taken by renowned photographer and award-winning cinematographer Romy Vitug during the production of “Atsay,” one of her iconic films.
Serna said the veteran actress was looking for that photo for so long. “Matagal na niyang hinahanap ito,” she said.
“Gawa ito ni award-winning cinematographer,” Aunor said, groping for the name of the photographer. She said that the image brought back pleasant memories for her.
