Kim Chiu on Love and Relationships

Despite the challenges she has faced from failed relationships, Kim Chiu maintains a positive outlook on love. She expressed that she is not closing the door on finding love again and entering a new relationship.

The 33-year-old Kapamilya actress stated, “Of course. Maybe not right now, but maybe in the months or years to come. Love can come from many sources, and I’m willing to accept it. It’s part of life, and we should embrace it all. Never stop loving, because love comes in all forms—friendship, love for your work, everything. Just never stop loving.”

Her twelve-year relationship with Xian Lim ended before 2023 concluded. Xian was her second boyfriend; her first was Gerald Anderson, with whom she was in a four-year relationship that ended in mid-2010.

Kim emphasized that she has no regrets about her relationships, even though she experienced pain. When asked if she had ever been deceived in love, she replied, “We’ve all been fooled in love; after all, you fell in love. Of course, you will encounter the craziness of the world because that’s part of life and growth. Embrace the pain and learn something from that experience, and you’re good to go. I have no regrets about any experience related to love or life. That’s part of life, and I’m thankful.”

Kim made these comments during the press conference for *Linlang*, held at the Dolphy Theater of ABS-CBN on January 15, 2024.

On another note, Kim is rumored to be linked with her *Linlang* leading man, Paulo Avelino, as the two developed a connection while working on the series. Both Paulo and Kim remained tight-lipped about the issue and were not directly asked about it during the press conference.

*Linlang* began airing on the Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and TV5 on January 22, and it had previously streamed on Prime Video late in 2024. The series was well-received due to its intense storyline and daring roles played by Kim, Paulo Avelino, JM de Guzman, and Kaila Estrada.

The story revolves around Juliana (Kim) and her relationships with brothers Victor (Paulo) and Alex (JM). Kim initially hesitated to accept the role of Juliana in *Linlang*, saying, “It was a long process, a long decision because I was really afraid of a role like this. I never imagined I would do something so mature, offbeat, and far from my own character. But I eventually decided that when else would I get the chance to play such a role, with such a stellar cast I could work with?”
