Netizens Claim Barbie Hsu’s “See-Through” Dress Worn At Funeral Was Bought By Ex-Husband

Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu (徐熙媛) has kept a low profile and hasn’t been in public ever since her divorce from ex-husband Wang Xiaofei (汪小菲) and subsequent marriage to now-husband DJ Koo. Recently, she attended a funeral in Taiwan – but her outfit became the target of netizen’s criticism.

Hsu Ching-Hsiang, the father-in-law of Barbie’s sister, Dee Hsu (徐熙娣), recently passed away at age 86. The deceased’s family held the first day of the funeral processions on 4th March (Monday), and many were in attendance at the ceremony, including family members and friends. However, all the spotlight was on Barbie, who attended the funeral with her husband, DJ Koo. The ceremony marks Barbie’s first public appearance since announcing her marriage to DJ Koo, full name Koo Jun-yup (구준엽), in 2022.

Barbie appeared at the funeral home wearing a black dress, a grey cardigan and a black shawl to cover her head. She also wore black sunglasses and a black face mask, covering most of her face. Husband DJ Koo was also at the funeral, and the two entered the mourning hall, tightly holding onto each others’ hands.

Barbie’s appearance at the funeral quickly became a trending topic, but many focused on her looks. Many netizens noted that the actress looked chubbier since the last time she appeared in public. They also lamented that her outfit was inappropriate as it seemed slightly see-through. Netizens also pointed out that the actress had visible grey hair, which contrasts her previous self, who was strict about her looks.

However, a Weibo user claimed that Barbie’s clothes were bought by her ex-husband, leading to more criticism of the star. Soon after photos and videos of Barbie from the funeral emerged on social media, netizens began comparing her clothes to the ones that Wang Xiaofei revealed he had bought for her, noting that the dress and her hairpin looked similar. Many then poked fun at her, saying she’s still depending on her ex-husband’s money.
