Matutina’s death certificate cites Acute Respiratory Failure due to Volume Fluid Overload as the immediate cause of her passing. She also battled Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease, which resulted from Hypertensive Nephrosclerosis.

Born Evelyn Bontogon-Guerrero, Matutina became a household name in Philippine television and film. She was best known for her iconic role as the endearing and humorous house helper of Doña Delilah, played by the late Dely Atay-atayan, in the 1970s hit sitcom John en Marsha.
