Kim Chiu, Paulo Avelino Share What They Learned From ‘My Love Will Make You Disappear’
Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino talked about their first movie together
Kapamilya onscreen partners Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino, known as the KimPau tandem, shared what they learned from their first movie together, My Love Will Make You Disappear.
Kim and Paulo’s onscreen partnership got a surprising warm welcome from fans, from their first series Linlang until they did the romantic comedy series What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?
Now, they are promoting their first movie together. They recently featured in Metro Magazine and the tandem talked about their characters and their first movie.

Kim Chiu plays the character of Sari, someone who thinks that she is losing everyone she loves because of a curse. Paulo Avelino gives life to the character of Jolo, who wanted to end his life painlessly and tries to make Sari fall in love with him thinking that the supposed curse will help him disappear.
Paulo said that even though his character is problematic and carries a lot of burden, there is a lot to learn from Jolo. “The thing I like the most about Jolo is he’s open. He’s still open to loving despite everything that happened to him. Despite all the downfalls and all the problems, there’s still that glimmer of hope when it comes to love,” the actor shared.

When asked about what they learned from the movie, Kim Chiu said that loving is part of life. “Huwag kang matakot magmahal. Medyo scary siya pero it’s part of life. It’s part of growing up or kung hindi ka nasasaktan, ibig sabihin hindi ka nag-gro-grow. It’s part of growing up and it’s part of being you—ang magmahal,” she said.
For the actor, the movie gave him a boost and a certain feeling of hope. He stressed that there is so much in life and that having problems does not mean that it is already the end of everything.
“There’s a Filipino saying that I truly believe in: ‘Habang may buhay, may pag-asa.’ You just have to live it out and you’ll eventually find a solution along the way,” Paulo Avelino said.
