MANILA, Philippines – Love, second chances, and a touch of humor—these were all part of Ruffa Gutierrez’s latest revelation about her ex-husband, Turkish businessman Yilmaz Bektas.

In an exclusive report by Pilipino Star Ngayon, the actress and former beauty queen shared that Yilmaz recently proposed to her again, years after their highly publicized split.

At first, Ruffa couldn’t believe what she was hearing.

“I asked him, ‘Is this a joke?’” she recalled. But Yilmaz assured her that he was serious, even suggesting a romantic adventure together.

“He said, ‘No, I want to invite you to be on a train with me. We’ll travel across Europe together,’” she shared.

Despite the grand gesture, Ruffa declined the proposal, humorously adding her own twist to the situation.

“I told him, ‘Is this real? Or maybe he’s planning my murder on the plane or train?’” she joked.

While a rekindled romance doesn’t seem to be in the cards, Ruffa and Yilmaz have maintained a positive relationship, especially for the sake of their daughters, Lorin and Venice.

Healing the Past, Embracing the Present

Ruffa shared that her daughters recently visited their father in Turkey, an experience that helped them reconnect and heal from the years of separation.

“I’m very happy because they are now more at ease. The pain I used to see in their hearts for so many years is gone,” she said.

This renewed bond between Yilmaz and his daughters has also paved the way for better communication between him and Ruffa.

“We’re okay now. Sometimes we joke around, and he even sends money. So, we’re all happy,” she said lightheartedly. “Yes, we now have regular communication.”

A New Chapter Without Looking Back?

Although Yilmaz’s proposal was turned down, it seems the former couple has found a way to maintain mutual respect and friendship.

With their daughters now having a stronger connection with their father and communication lines open, it appears that Ruffa and Yilmaz are writing a new chapter—one focused on co-parenting, healing, and moving forward.
