HIDILYN DIAZ – Pinay champ Hidilyn Diaz was surprised by Marian Rivera’s attitude behind the camera.

In July 2021, Hidilyn Diaz made history as the first Filipino to win a gold medal in the Olympics after she successfully lifted 127 kg in the clean and jerk event. She bested eight other athletes including world record-holder Liao Qiuyun of China.

The weightlifter received a 2-story house in Tagaytay, 50M pesos, and other items. In a previous article, the Pinay champ gave a glimpse into the interior of her brand-new house. She is admired by many for being humble and kind despite her achievements and success.

On May 20, Hidilyn Diaz went back-to-back in the women’s 55kg weightlifting competition at the 2022 SEA Games in Vietnam. She bested Sanikun Tanasan of Thailand, an Olympic gold medalist from Rio 2016.

In an IG post, the 32-year-old weightlifter opened up about her journey leading to the 2022 SEA Games. She shared that she struggled with anxiety at the start of the year due to her weight gain.

Recently, Hidilyn Diaz took to her IG account to share about her encounter with Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera. Hidilyn met Marian when the latter brought her daughter Zia to a gymnastics class.

The Pinay champ admitted that she felt shy approaching the prominent actress for a picture. However, she was pleased to find out that Rivera was a kind and sweet person behind the camera. Hidilyn also praised the prominent actress for being a hands-on mom to her daughter.

“Nahihiya ako magpga-picture kay idol Marian Rivera. Siyempre Marian yan! Mabait and sweet pala siya in person. Hands-on at supportive siya kay Zia. Kudos to Marian,” she wrote.

Furthermore, Hidilyn Diaz praised Zia Dantes’ performance during her gymnastics class. She said, “Ang galing ni Zia sa mga training niya kanina. Kudos kay idol Marian pina-enroll niya sa gymnastics class si Zia.”
