Julia Barretto Happy For Gerald Anderson’s Philippine Coast Guard Promotion

Gerald Anderson received support from Julia Barretto in a recent milestone in his life

Actress Julia Barretto is happy for her boyfriend actor Gerald Anderson because he was promoted to auxiliary captain in the Philippine Coast Guard.

Julia and Gerald have been very supportive of each other’s endeavors whether it is in showbiz or outside the entertainment industry.

Aside from being an actor, Gerald is also active in his duty as a member of the Coast Guard. He was admired by many people because this title is not merely something that is attached to his name. The actor went viral during typhoon Undoy and Carina for bravely helping stranded people.

Just recently, Gerald Anderson received a new milestone and Julia Barretto is simply happy for him. Based on the article in ABS-CBN News, the actor earned a promotion within the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) to auxiliary captain.

Aside from Julia, Gerald was also joined by his father Gerald Randolph Anderson Sr. during the oath-taking ceremony. The actress’s mother Marjorie Barreto and the COO for broadcast of ABS-CBN Cory Vidanes were also there.

The oath-taking ceremony was resided over by Adm. Ronnie Gil Gavan, commandant of the Philippine Coast Guard, and Sen. Robin Padilla.

In an interview after the ceremony, Gerald expressed gratitude for this recognition. “More than the rank, it’s just being here with amazing people. Na-recognize tayo ng idol natin sa ganitong sitwasyon and circumstances, di ba? Si Senator Robin Padilla pa yung nag-pass ng resolution for this to happen,” the actor said.

He also said that it always gives him a good feeling to be with the Philippine Coast Guard as he is able to give high morale and they appreciate the group.

As an auxiliary captain, Gerald said that he remains steadfast regardless of his rank. He also shared that he plans to create a squadron for search and rescue missions, especially during calamities.

Gerald Anderson also encouraged other celebrities to join PCGA with the hope of amplifying support for this group. During the interview, Julia Barretto was proudly standing beside her boyfriend.

“More than anything, I’m very proud to have been part of the celebration, to witness this milestone for him. I am so proud of him because he really does his duties and really goes out there. Love to help,” she said.

Julia also said that she is happy for her boyfriend and to be part of this moment in his life. “At the end of the day, I really am just his partner who will always have his back,” she added.
