LEILA DE LIMA – The former Senator clarified that her being a spokesperson behind the Sara Duterte impeachment complaint is not revenge.
The impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Duterte shocked a lot of Filipinos. It has been a long while since an impeachment complaint was filed against a public official. Sixteen (16) private individuals are behind the complaint.

Former Senator Leila de Lima is the spokesperson of the complainants behind the impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. One of the complainants behind the impeachment complaint versus Vice Pres. Duterte is Kiko Aquino Dee, the grandson of Ninoy Aquino.
According to Aquino, the complainants behind the impeachment complaint initially came together to talk about the EDSA People Power Revolution. Their discussion led to a Charter Change talk and then it further led to taking a step on the actions of the Vice President.

With regards to her being a spokesperson of the complainants behind the impeachment complaint versus Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, former Sen. Leila de Lima clarified that it is not a thing of revenge. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, she stressed that being vengeful is not her nature.
“Wala akong balak maghiganti. Wala ‘yan sa karakter ko. Siguro inaano nila ‘yung tungkol sa mga kaso ko,” De Lima said.
Former Sen. Leila de Lima also reiterated that her lawyers have a plan of filing charges against former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte and his “enablers” as well as those who allegedly followed the instructions of the former Chief Executive.

De Lima emphasized that her move is for the sake of justice because she is also in the pursuit of justice for the alleged “injustice” done to her. Based on the report, the former Senator said she feels that the complainants deserve her support for doing what is “right”.
Malacañang has released a statement on the impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Previously, Pres. Bongbong Marcos admitted that he does not agree with the filing of the impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Duterte despite her tirades against him.
