Aamir Khan is been in the news for his next release, Sitaare Zameen Par. Following the failure of his last two films, Thugs of Hindustan and Laal Singh Chaddha, the actor is expected to make a comeback with this sports comedy-drama directed by RS Prasanna, known for Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.

Earlier many reports suggested that Christmas 2024 would be the release date for the film. However, new speculation now suggests that Sitaare Zameen Par might be postponed, potentially leaving Mufasa: The Lion King as the only film releasing on December 20, 2024.

Will Sitaare Zameen Par get postponed?

This film is an adaptation of the 2018 Spanish movie Campeones with stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh as the lead actors. Recently, bollywood media reports suggest that the film will not be released during the Christmas season. According to 123Telegu, the team behind Sitaare Zameen Par needs more time for post-production and aims to maintain high quality. The delay could extend up to three months.

Speculation about the postponement is heightened by Jio Studios, a co-producer of Sitaare Zameen Par, scheduling another film, Varun Dhawan’s Baby John, for the same Christmas weekend on December 25, 2024. This move would make Aamir’s film the second major Bollywood release to move from the Christmas slot, following Akshay Kumar’s Welcome to the Jungle, which was also delayed due to production issues.

However, the makers have not given any official statement regarding the postponement.

Director Prasanna announces the wrap-up of Sitaare Zameen Par

Director R S Prasanna announced that the filming of Sitaare Zameen Par, featuring Aamir Khan, concluded on June 16. He shared the news on his Instagram Stories, posting a picture of a cake adorned with the film’s title and the message “It’s a wrap.”
