Kathryn Bernardo Almost Said No to ‘Hello, Love, Again’—Here’s Why

Find Out Why Kathryn Bernardo Almost Said No to ‘Hello, Love, Again’

KATHRYN BERNARDO – Actress Kathryn Bernardo revealed she almost said “No” to ‘Hello, Love, Again.’

Actress Kathryn Bernardo recently opened up about her initial hesitations to make “Hello, Love, Again,” the highly anticipated sequel to her 2019 film with Alden Richards, “Hello, Love, Goodbye.” In an interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Kathryn admitted she was cautious about revisiting the cherished love story of Joy and Ethan, the characters she and Alden brought to life, which deeply resonated with fans.

“I’ll be honest. When they told me about it early this year, I was a bit hesitant kasi, ‘di ba Tito Boy, alam natin kung gaano kahirap gumawa ng sequel. And for me, I would like to leave it as it is – like Joy and Ethan, nag-end na ‘yung love story nila, parang iwan na natin ‘yun,” she admitted.

However, Kathryn Bernardo’s outlook changed after hearing the storyline for “Hello, Love, Again.” She said, “And then, nung in-explain nila sa akin ‘yung story, doon ko na-realize na there are so many questions na gusto ko bigyan ng sagot. What happened to Joy and Ethan? Nakagawa ba nila yung dreams nila?”

The upcoming film will dive into these questions, offering fans insight into the paths Joy and Ethan took after parting in “Hello, Love, Goodbye.” “Yung sa trailer na nakita niyo, anong nangyari kay Joy at Ethan? Bakit sila umabot sa ganito? Will they give second chances? What happened to Ethan in Hong Kong? What happened to Joy in Canada?”

Kathryn Bernardo found comfort in knowing that director Cathy Garcia-Molina and Alden Richards were both returning, despite Alden’s packed schedule. She said, “So many questions, ang daming kailangang sagutin. That made me say yes, and when they told me Direk Cathy’s going to direct it, pinayagan ulit si Tisoy despite his busy, busy schedule, parang everything fell into place.”

“And I think, this is the perfect time to do it.”

Hello, Love, Again is a historic collaboration between GMA Pictures and Star Cinema, reuniting Kathryn and Alden as Joy and Ethan, who cross paths in Canada after five years apart. Set to release worldwide on November 13, the film promises to answer fans’ long-held questions and reignite the magic of a beloved love story.
