Fans of Kapamilya superstar Kathryn Bernardo expressed their disappointment over the statements made by former Kapamilya star Liza Soberano in an interview with Bea Alonzo on the film ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’.

In the vlog, Liza said that the blockbuster film was first offered to her and boyfriend Enrique Gil.

“Yung ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’ ni Kathryn and Alden were actually offered to Quen and I first. And then I wanted to do that movie so bad then there was a project lined up for the both of you. Then while I was doing ‘Bagani,’ nabalitaan ko it was offered to Kathryn and Ken. Why did they do that? I asked them to save the project for me and Ken. I told them to wait for us. And then they have to develop it first. I said okay we’ll wait. And then nalaman ko na lang they still offered it to Kathryn and Ken. Wala na yung LizQuen. It was then later I realized, oh my God! Ang dami kong hindi nagawa sa career ko.” Liza said.

The statement did not sit well with fans of Kathryn and said that the latter is the best fit for the role.

“While I believe Liza Soberano is a good actress, Joy Marie Fabregas was made for Kathryn Bernardo. No one can portray her better,” a netizen said.

“You can tell that she wasn’t the first choice for the role, but Joy Fabregas was designed for Kathryn Bernardo only. It was meant for her. She played and embodied Joy’s character wholly and no one can portray that character as great as she did,” another one added.

“In-offer ang HLG kay Hope, she said hold it muna, pero hindi niya naisip na habang hindi ginagawa ang project, nakatengga ang sahod ng mga maliit na tao, kaya the management push it and OFFER it to Kath and Alden. Una lang in-offer kay Liza, hindi siya ang gumawa ng HLG,” another one said.

‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’ is the current titleholder for the highest grossing Filipino film of all time.

Kathryn played the role of an overseas Filipino worker in Hong Kong struggling for her family and in hopes of migrating to Canada.
