For the first time in six years, Kathryn Bernardo was paired with someone who isn’t her reel and real-life boyfriend Daniel Padilla. For her latest film Three Words To Forever, Kath’s leading man was newbie Tommy Esguerra and needless to say, it was a big adjustment for everyone involved.

During her guesting on Tonight With Boy Abunda last night, Kathryn talked about how she adjusted to having someone else as her partner (Kath and Tommy play a newly-engaged couple in the film). During the first few days of shooting, Kath actually cried and talked to their director Cathy Garcia-Molina because she felt kinda weird about it!

Guess what? DJ visited them on set last month and talked with Tommy to assure him that everything was okay! “Mas nakatulong na nandoon siya [Daniel], na secure siya [Tommy] na okay lang kay DJ. Grabe yung support ni DJ sa akin,” Kath shared.

When Boy Abunda asked if she’s ready to see Daniel with a new onscreen partner, Kath squealed and said, “Oh, my god. Hindi ko po alam…Of course, parang never ako magiging ready doon. But I have to be ready, kasi I have to let him go also. Pero oh, my god, iniisip ko pa lang...”

“Sino ba naman yung magiging ever comfortable na makikita mo iba yung ka-partner ng boyfriend mo, iba yung ka-kiss niya, ka-hug niya? Oh, my god. Parang ‘di ba, never naman ako magiging ready kung totoo lang.” Kath, however, reiterated that she knows Daniel will just be playing a role.

It’s okay, Kath. We understand! TBH, we’re not yet a hundred percent ready to see KathNiel in different love teams, too.
