Bollywood stars Aamir Khan and Salman Khan tickled the audience’s funny bone when they came together in the 1994 film Andaz Apna Apna, almost 30 years ago. Since then, the two stars have never shared the screen. But the latest post from Aamir’s production house, Aamir Khan Productions (AKP), on X (previously Twitter) has left cinephiles excited about a possible collaboration between the actors.

On Wednesday, August 21, Aamir Khan Productions dug out a more than a decade-old post of Salman Khan. In his 2010 post, the ‘Dabangg’ actor wrote, “I dint let aamir touch me after the film. Agar mujhe gold mein badal deta toh??? (What if he would convert me to gold) (sic).”

Quoting Salman’s tweet, Aamir Khan Productions wrote, “we think about this a lot (sic).” As the production company’s post caught the attention of social media users, they speculated a possible collaboration between Salman and Aamir. A user commented, “New tease about an upcoming film? (sic).”

Another X user wrote, “So you guys are coming up with something and you are good at marketing it.” One of them wrote, “Both are going to do project together (sic).” A user, probably a fan of Andaz Apna Apna, quoted a dialogue from the film, “Do dost phir se ek cup mein chai piyenge kya?” Another user hoped for a good movie featuring Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. A fan also wished for Shah Rukh Khan to join Salman and Aamir in the movie.

While Salman Khan is looking forward to his film Sikandar, Aamir recently talked about his retirement plans at an event. On the sidelines of the Laapataa Ladies screening at the Supreme Court, the actor said, “I was telling sir (the Chief Justice of India) that during COVID, when I was 56, I thought this is the last leg of my career, I will work for 15 years more. I can actively work till 70 and who knows after that. Whatever I have learnt, I wanted to give back because the industry, the society, the country has given me so much. I thought maybe I can do one film a year, but as a producer I can back multiple stories I feel strongly about.”
