Tito Sotto was asked about Ely Buendia’s recent statement

Senatorial candidate Tito Sotto shared his thoughts about former Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia.

The question about Ely was asked to Tito after the musician’s recent statement about the iconic TVJ trio. Tito, along with his brother Vic Sotto, and their friend Joey de Leon, formed the trio in the 70s.

Along with their successful careers as a trio and individually, a controversy involving them occurred. Vic and Joey were accused of abusing the late actress Pepsi Paloma and allegedly, Tito tried his best to cover this up.

An urban legend has been circulating for many years already that Eraserheads’ Spolarium song was about the alleged incident because “Enteng” and “Joey” were mentioned in the lyrics.

Back in a 2021 interview, Ely Buendia already debunked the “urban legend” about Spolarium. He explained that the Enteng and Joey mentioned in the song were their “roadies” at that time and that it was all about being “pissed drunk.”

Just recently, Ely was once again asked about the urban legend. Once again, he stressed that the song was not about TVJ and Pepsi Paloma. He even stressed that the trio were his heroes and he would not do anything to tarnish the names of the people he looked up to.

In a recent interview during the press conference for the senatorial candidates of Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, Tito Sotto was asked about Ely Buendia’s recent statement about TVJ.
