Ashley Ortega confirmed that she’s in a relationship with Mavy Legaspi after weeks of speculation, adding that she and the latter’s ex, Kyline Alcantara, are “good.”

“I think it’s obvious naman na. Yes,” Ortega said when asked about the dating rumors in a Feb. 10 guesting on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.

She noted that she’s known Legaspi for years, but they only got closer in 2024 after his breakup with Alcantara.

“Mga bata pa kami noon, I think when he started signing a contract sa Sparkle,” she said. “But we started hanging out more last year.”

Ortega recalled spending time with him and their common friends, and she said that was when she was able to know Legaspi more.

“Then nagtutuloy na,” she shared. “He asked me if we can have lunch or dinner together just to get to know more about each other. Then nagtuloy-tuloy na.”

Ortega described Legaspi as a “really thoughtful” and “generous” suitor.

“Hindi naman kasi ako magrandeng tao na kailangan ng mga surprises or flowers or whatsoever,” she said, adding that she’s more after meaningful conversations.

Ortega also reflected on her earlier beliefs that Legaspi, who’s nearly three years younger than her, won’t be as mature as her. Ortega turned 26 last December, while Legaspi turned 24 last January.

“But he’s actually mature. Parang in our relationship, ako ‘yung pabebe girl. He takes care of me. ‘Yun ‘yung parang napatunayan niya when we were going out,” she said, adding that Legaspi is a “well-mannered guy.”

Asked how long they’ve been officially together, Ortega said it’s a “secret,” though she recalled meeting Legaspi’s parents, Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi, during the holidays.

“They’re very welcoming,” she said, noting that she had worked with “Tita Mina” during a lock-in taping and even “Tito Zoren” as her onscreen father.

“When me and Mavy were hanging out na, Mavy introduced me to them and last December, they invited me for a Christmas dinner… mababait sila and Cassy also,” she said, referring to Legaspi’s twin sister.

Ortega said she and Legaspi have plans on Valentine’s Day, noting it’s her first time to experience the occasion.

“Kasi ‘yung mga past ko before, sablay lagi,” she said. “‘Yung una, parang we broke up before Valentine’s Day. The second one was LDR (long-distance relationship), he was in the States. ‘Yung pangatlo naman, nasa lock-in taping ako.”

Ortega was also asked whether she talked with Alcantara regarding Legaspi.

“Actually, yesterday, I was with her,” she said of her co-star in the musical variety show All Out Sundays. “We’re okay, nag-hi/hello kami.”

“We’re good naman, no beef,” she said of Alcantara.

Legaspi and Alcantara, who became a love team after signing with GMA Network in 2018, sparked dating rumors in 2021.

Last August 2024, Alcantara spoke up about her breakup with Legaspi for the first time, saying that she always tries to learn from the good and bad experiences of any interpersonal relationship she has.

Alcantara is now dating basketball player Kobe Paras.

Ortega and Legaspi, meanwhile, sparked dating rumors in January after they were spotted together in Cebu.
