Kris Aquino’s Brave Battle: Fighting Pain, Holding Onto Hope, and Preparing for a Comeback

Kris Aquino has begun physical therapy after her leg muscles became noticeably thin due to the ongoing effects of her multiple autoimmune diseases. The “Queen of All Media” continues to fight through extreme pain, demonstrating both resilience and vulnerability as she navigates her health journey.
Fighting Through Pain
In a joint Instagram post shared by her close friend Dindo Balares and her official fan page, Kris was seen using a walker as she struggles with weakened leg muscles. She confided in Dindo about her condition, revealing that her weight has dropped to just 87 pounds (around 39 kg).
“‘Ganyan kapayat my legs. That’s why I need physical therapy. And I’m 87 pounds, Kuya Dindo,’” Kris shared, according to the caption.
Due to the severe pain caused by her weakened muscles, Kris has started therapy at Makati Medical Center. The post detailed how she often finds herself in tears from the suffering she endures daily.
“Labis na pagdurusa ang pinagdadaanan ni Kris at sa sobrang sakit, madalas ay umiiyak na lamang ito,” the post read.
Despite the challenges, her fan page expressed admiration for Kris’ unwavering strength: “We’re keeping you in our prayers, Miss Kris, and wishing you a smooth and speedy recovery.”
Hope Amidst Hardship
In a separate update, Dindo shared that Kris has since been discharged from the hospital. This was confirmed by a recent Instagram story she posted, showing her celebrating Halloween with her “two boys,” likely referring to her sons Joshua and Bimby.
Even in the face of extreme pain, Kris remains hopeful and determined. In a message relayed through Dindo, she assured her supporters that she would return to her charitable efforts once she regains her health:
“Please say that please let me get my health okay and the matulungin Kris will definitely be back. I just need to start working para may pang-share.”
While she acknowledges the emotional toll of her battle, Kris encourages her fans to continue praying for her:
“I don’t want sadness for my followers. Because I want them to continue praying. We all need to have faith although, Kuya Dindo aamin ako—sa sobrang sakit there are moments I really can’t help but cry. I remind myself though, I’m allowed because I’m still human.”
A Long Road to Recovery
Kris Aquino returned to the Philippines in September 2024, after spending two years in the United States undergoing medical tests and treatments. She is currently fighting against six autoimmune conditions, three of which are life-threatening:
- Churg-Strauss Syndrome

Her journey has been marked by perseverance, faith, and an unwavering commitment to healing. As she continues her recovery, her fans and loved ones remain hopeful that she will soon regain her strength and return to the life she loves.
For now, Kris Aquino’s battle is far from over—but her spirit remains unbreakable.
