RABIYA MATEO – Beauty queen and actress Rabiya Mateo faces heartbreak after being rejected by her biological father.



Miss Universe Philippines 2020 titleholder Rabiya Mateo recently faced a heartbreaking experience after reconnecting with her estranged Indian-American biological father, Syed Mohammed Hashmi.

Rabiya’s father abandoned her and her mother when she was just a baby. Despite this painful past, Rabiya’s desire to reconnect with her father led her to track him down in the United States. In the last week of January 2025, the beauty queen finally managed to contact him over the phone.

However, what could have been a heartwarming reunion turned into a painful encounter when her father rejected her outright.

Emotional Pain from Father’s Harsh Words

Based on a report from PEP, Rabiya was left devastated by her father’s response. After years of searching, she was met with rejection and hurtful words.

Rabiya’s biological father, who is now a successful doctor living a comfortable life in the U.S., reportedly told her:

“Don’t message me and my family. I don’t care about you. I want nothing to do with you.”

The harsh words crushed Rabiya, who clarified that her only intention was to meet her father and reconnect — not to seek financial help or support. Despite the pain, she tried to understand his reaction.

It was later revealed that Rabiya’s father’s current wife and their children were unaware that he had left a family behind in the Philippines when he moved to the U.S. to study medicine.

Rabiya also attempted to reach out to her half-sister, but her messages were ignored and eventually blocked, reportedly due to their father’s influence.

Moving Forward with Strength

Although Rabiya was heartbroken, she expressed gratitude that her search had come to an end. She has accepted the fact that her father has no interest in reconnecting with her since he was never involved in her life.

Rabiya has vowed to work harder and focus her energy on her mother and sibling, who have always been by her side. Despite her father’s rejection, Rabiya remains his biological daughter — with childhood photos as undeniable proof of their connection.
