Bea Alonzo says Taylor Swift's 'I Can Do It With A Broken Heart' helped her conquer her recent '2 wars'

Bea Alonzo has been working on “Widows’ War” when she and former fiancé Dominic Roque called off their wedding and broke up.

On Thursday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the Kapuso actress was asked how she managed to go through these “wars,” a personal problem and a big project, all at once.

“Pine-play ko lang ‘yung music ni Taylor Swift, ‘I Can Do It With A Broken Heart.’ Charot!” Bea said.

“How did I survive two wars? The other one is a creative war, right? Actually, ‘Widows’ War’ became like my outlet as well, because acting has always been my outlet when I’m going through something or whatever it is,” she continued.

Bea said that playing another role makes her feel alive.

“It makes me not think about my problems, not that I am escaping it, because most of the time, Tito Boy, art imitates life for me,” she said.

Early on in the series, Bea also had to shoot a proposal scene.

“Sabi ko, ‘Talaga? Ngayon natin ‘to gagawin?'” she said.

“To answer your question, ang war naman, minsan nananalo ka. Sometimes you lose, sometimes you win, but you always keep going, you never stop fighting. I guess that’s the most important part is you never stop fighting,” Bea said.

Now, Bea said that she is just enjoying her life and embracing the uncertainty.

“Na-realize ko, minsan marami tayong plano sa buhay natin pero God’s plans are always better,” she said.

She also said that after her recent relationship, she learned that she’s more resilient than she thought she was.

“It made me stronger, and natutunan kong i-cancel talaga ‘yung mga noise na hindi kailangan sa buhay ko, and just accept or embrace those opinions that add value to my life,” Bea said.

Bea got engaged to Dominic in July last year. The couple was supposed to be married this year.

Last February, Tito Boy confirmed that Dominic and Bea had broken off their engagement. The host also reminded the public to be kinder amid the breakup and to avoid speculating.

In the same month, Bea started taping for “Widows’ War,” which also stars Carla Abellana.

Bea plays the role of Sam Castillo, whom Bea called a “fighter.”

“Widows’ War” airs weekdays at 8:50 p.m. after “Black Rider.”
