When watching her husband Nick Jonas (32 years old) perform with The Jonas Brothers at The O2 gymnasium (London) on September 16, Miss World Priyanka Chopra (42 years old) said she remembered the beauty contest that was broadcast live in this arena.

In an Instagram post shared on September 17, Priyanka Chopra recorded a picture of herself at The O2 with the caption: “The night of September 16 shouldn’t be so fun”, before recounting the victory at the Miss World 2000 contest with an incident.

“I was crowned Miss World in this arena 24 years ago. I’ll never forget that moment I had when I was 18 years old, excited, nervous and competitive, trying to look perfect, to be the most beautiful,” Priyanka Chopra continued.

Later, the actress revealed that a costume incident almost made that moment even more “memorable” even though it wasn’t in a good way.

She said: “The memory that I will never forget on November 30, 2000 was the feeling of balancing in high heels with a beautiful Hemant Trivedi evening dress that kept slipping down all evening, because the patch didn’t hold the dress tight because I was sweating too much. If you search for images on Google, after winning, I look like I’m saluting as a token of gratitude but actually have to do my best to keep my skirt from slipping. Thankfully, everything is fine in the end.”

Priyanka Chopra was crowned Miss World 2000 at the age of 18

When appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show last year, Priyanka Chopra revealed that her musician husband watched her compete in a beauty pageant that took place 24 years ago and fell in love with her at first sight. In 2018, the two held a wedding ceremony, currently have 1 daughter.

“My mother-in-law said, ‘I remember watching you when you won the crown,'” the former Miss World recounted to host Jennifer Hudson.

“I remember very well that in November 2000, Nick was on Broadway at the age of eight. Kevin Sr. – my father-in-law – loves to watch beauty contests. He watched the finale and Nick sat down with him,” Priyanka Chopra recalled.

After Hudson asked if she believed the relationship was destined for the moment, Chopra replied: “Maybe.”

“I believe that people are born to be together at some point in their lives. And I think that’s fate,” the Quantico actress expressed.
