Actress Janine Gutierrez expressed her love and appreciation for her father, actor Ramon Christopher “Monching” Gutierrez, as he celebrated his 52nd birthday over the weekend.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, August 14, the Marry Me, Marry You star thanked Monching for being the “best papa” to her and her siblings.

“Half of my heart. Happy birthday, papa!!! I always post your pogi pics naman so I hope it’s okay to post these,” Janine said in her post, which showed throwback photos of Monching, as well as clips showing his candid moments.

“I love you @monchinggutz!!!!! life with you is the best ride. you make us so happy, obviously. thank you for being the best Papa,” she added.

Janine is the eldest child of Monching with his former wife, actress Lotlot de Leon. They have three other kids—Jessica, Diego, and Maxine.

Meanwhile, Monching gave a special thanks to his children as he marked his birthday on Instagram.

“Turned 52 today. Just want to thank my family and friends who greeted me but most importantly I’d like to thank my kids who love me unconditionally and always have my back. Love you so much,” he said.

Previously on Magandang Buhay, Monching said he’s blessed to have been given the kindest, most respectful and generous kids.

“‘Yang mga anak ko talagang very, very mababait ‘yan. Very respectful. Very generous, yung oras nila, yung mga kita nila, pinamamahagi nila sa pamilya. Ibig kong sabihin, very ano sila, talagang mababait sila,” he said.

“Yung sinasabi nila na the best dad ako? Hindi. Sa totoo yung mga anak ko, ‘yan ang mga the best,” he continued. “Ano lang ako… All I give them is yung effort, ganun. So ‘yun lang. … Yung oras ko lang para sa kanila, ‘yun yung ano eh… Hindi ko man maibigay sa kanila lahat, basta lagi akong nandyan para sa kanila.”

He also shared his hopes for his children, which is for them to reach their dreams and be successful in the paths they’ve chosen.

For her part, Janine promised to always be there for her dad and to never let him down.

“Promise ko kay Papa na palagi akong nandito para sa kanya. ‘Yung parents kasi namin hindi sila strict eh, parang hinahayaan nila kami, nagtitiwala sila sa mga desisyon namin. And maipapangako ko talaga kay Papa na hindi ko siya idi-disappoint. Sa lahat ng trabaho ko, ginagawa ko, sila talaga yung iniisip ko and ‘yung mga kapatid ko,” she said.

Speaking on behalf of her siblings, the actress said: “Mahal na mahal talaga namin si Papa, and binibigay niya talaga lahat sa abot ng kanyang makakaya. Pero napansin ko nga na ‘yung mahalaga pala talaga sa amin is ‘yung nandyan siya, hindi ‘yung mga naibigay niya. So ‘yun din yung maibibigay namin sa kanya—na nandito lang kami palagi para sa kanya.”
