Filipino actor, singer, songwriter, and film producer Jericho Rosales confirmed that he is dating his Kapamilya Channel co-star and actress Janine Gutierrez during a press conference on August 13 for his forthcoming series Lavender Fields.

When asked whether he was romantically involved with the actress, Echo replied by saying, “Yes, we’re going out,” as per ABS-CBN News. He also admitted to enjoying his time with Janine and called her an “amazing” person. He shared:

“I first decided to join the project because I was really, really so into the production team and everyone and then I realized I was so into her. She’s… very sweet, very kind, very funny, and very dedicated, very good actress.”

Notably, Jericho Rosales was previously married to fashion influencer Kim Jones but reportedly separated in 2019. During the press conference, Jericho Rosales also went on to add that he and 34-year-old Janine “share a lot of things” in common including their mutual interest in having adventures, such as impromptu visits to the museum. He further added:

“We’ll see, we shall see. You expect good things about it. It’s really, really nice and happy … things are great. There’s no negativity around. It’s fun, you gotta enjoy this fire, flame, whatever it is.”

44-year-old actor Jericho Rosales and 34-year-old actress Janine Gutierrez first sparked dating rumors when they were spotted together at the National Museum of the Philippines in July 2024. At the time, the duo, who are ten years apart in age, shared similar images on their Instagram, thus fuelling the speculations.

Under Janine’s post, her mother and veteran actress Lotlot de Leon commented jokingly asking who was accompanying her at the museum. In response, Jericho Rosales confirmed that it was him. He also quipped that he rang the doorbell at their house but was driven away by their dogs.

Meanwhile, as part of his recent press conference, the Sellblock actor shared how he met Janine’s family including her parents and siblings. He called it a “warm and cool and chill” encounter and compared it to a “jackpot” moment as per ABS-CBN News on August 13. He said:

“We’re together in a car and on our way to Diego’s launch. And their dog was sent to the vet and two sisters were there. And after that, we went to her brother Diego’s launch… Her father was there. Ms. Lotlot was there. And her entire management was there. And I was like ‘hello!’”

He further continued by recalling how he met the entire family in “one whole day” which was one of the “cutest” interactions he’s ever had. He also called Gutierrez’s family “loving and accepting.” Jericho Rosales also confirmed that he sought the permission of both of Janine’s parents before he began dating her, as it was part of their Filipino culture.

Jericho and Janine will appear together in the drama series Lavender Fields slated to release on Netflix on August 31. It also has a cameo from Lotlot de Leon.

Exploring Jericho Rosales’ relationship with Kim Jones

Before being romantically involved with Janine Gutierrez, the I’ll Be There star was married to British-Australian creative and fashion influencer, stylist, designer, model, and photographer Kim Jones.

Earlier this year, Rosales’ godfather Ricco Ocampo confirmed that he was “amicably” separated from his wife. The former couple tied the knot in May 2014 after three years of dating and parted ways in 2019.

In March 2024, Jericho told Cosmopolitan Philippines during an interview that he was on friendly terms with his now-estranged wife. He said:

“We thought that it was the perfect time because the goal was really to show people that we’re good. We’re really good. We’ve crossed over, you know, we’ve transformed the relationship into something really special as friends.”

He mentioned that they were still “supporting” each other both personally and professionally. Added that he was helping her out on a new project that she was producing.

The father of one shared that being married to Jones was one of the “best things” that ever happened to him, and he looked at the breakup as not a sad or bad thing, but rather something normal.

Jericho Rosales wrapped up by saying how he wanted to “inspire” people and show them that people can be “friends” with their exes.
