The 6-foot, veteran guard shared that he is set to apply in the league’s Season 50 Rookie Draft following the conclusion of Season 49, four years following his initial attempt to enter the league.
“Yeah. The goal is, I’d like to enter the PBA, said the 33-year-old playmaker on the sidelines of Strong Group Athletics-Philippines media day ahead of the 34th Dubai International Basketball Tournament.
“I’m looking forward to the next draft, and I hope I can enter and join the PBA,” he added.
The former Alab Pilipinas guard of the now-defunct ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) was originally set to enter the draft in 2021, but he opted to head to Taiwan and instead play for the Kaohsiung Aquas in the T1 League.

He spent four seasons there and won a championship, received a Most Valuable Import plum, and was also an All-T1 team member twice.
However, now that his contract with Kaohsiung has reached its end, Brickman is looking to finally showcase his prowess in front of Filipino fans.
“I had a contract with Taiwan. I was not able to get out of my contract which has a few more years left. Now that I’m out of my contract, I will now be able to join the PBA,” he said.
But just before Brickman enters the PBA which will be in its 50th Season if his plans push through accordingly, the basketball-crazy country will have another look at the 2016 ABL Champion in his stint with Charles Tiu and SGA in Dubai.
“It’s always great to play for Coach Charles,” said the Pangasinan native, who also previously played under Tiu with Mighty Sports. “It feels great, and I’m always excited to be back here, with friends and my family.”
SGA is looking for redemption following their Finals heartbreak in the 2024 edition of the tournament, and for Brickman, this present team has the tools to complete their story.
“We’re excited to play with each other,” he said. We’re a very talented team, and we’re all looking forward to this Dubai tournament.”
