Why Judy Ann Santos wanted to be a mom by 26
It was always part of Judy Ann Santos’s plan to be a mom by 26.
Even though she was still single at the time, the ABS-CBN actress was set to make it happen.
“26, nakikita ko na ang sarili ko that I will settle down with a kid only,” Judy Ann said, recalling that time back in 2004.
“I’m gonna enjoy my life, I’m gonna work my ass off from 8 until 26. Magtatrabaho ako, papagurin ko sarili ko, pupuyat ako.
“Pero kapag nag-26 ako at nagka-pamilya na ako, magle-lay low na ako paunti-unti, and I’m gonna start choosing the projects that I want to do…
True enough, Judy Ann did become a mom by 26 when she adopted her daughter, Yohan.
A year after, Judy Ann found a partner in her Krystala leading man, Ryan Agoncillo, and four years into their relationship, she got married.
Judy Ann’s family grew with the addition of her son, Lucho, and her second daughter, Luna.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) caught up with Judy Ann at an intimate lunch event last March 27 along McKinley Forbes Park, Makati.
JUDY ANN: STANDING HER OWN GROUND
The deliberate decision to become a mom led to a turning point in Judy Ann’s life at the time.
After years of following orders from the people around her, Judy Ann felt that this was the perfect time to begin honoring her own decisions.
I will do what I want to do.
“I will only follow what my heart wants to do.
So, kapag sinabi kong ayoko, ayoko.’”
Back then, Judy Ann was still under the management of her former talent manager, Alfie Lorenzo.
Alfie, or Tito Alfie as she called him, oversaw Judy Ann’s career for 28 years until they parted ways in August 2016.
The veteran talent manager-entertainment columnist then passed away in August 2017 due to cardiac arrest.
“I had to plant the seeds,” Judy Ann continued in the interview.
“It was the plan since I was a teenager na… nung nakikita ko na wala akong hand dito, e.
“Wala akong kapasidad to command, especially Tito Alfie at that time, na ito yung gusto ko.
In Ryan, Judy Ann found the support she needed to stand her own ground despite what Alfie insisted on her.
“Parang nakahanap ako ng taong mag-ga-guide sa akin on how to not stress myself when it comes to Tito Alfie and how to understand him.
Today, Judy Ann has her own management team with Offical Juday PH.
