MANILA—Luis Manzano clarified what he said about the engagement of his ex-girlfriend, Angel Locsin, which some fans misinterpreted as him being “bitter.”

He was asked about it this week, a clip going around social media showed, and he appeared to have said to the interviewer, “Huwag niya ako idamay sa kuwento niya.”

Fans of Locsin took offense with this, but as it turned out, Manzano explained that he actually said, “huwag niyo na” and not “huwag niya,” admitting that he may have said it too quickly.

“Ang kuwento nila ay sa kanila, ang amin ay amin kaya huwag na kami idamay ng ibang fans or press sa love story ng ibang tao,” he wrote on Twitter, adding that his opinion does not matter.

Manzano and Locsin first became a couple back in 2007. They broke up two years later, but got back together in 2014.

They separated for good in 2016 and now Locsin is engaged, while Manzano is in a relationship with Jessy Mendiola.
