Rita Daniela’s legal counsel reacts as the court charges Archie Alemania.

The Court recommended actor Archie Alemania be charged with acts of lasciviousness in the Rita Daniela case.

GMA actress Rita Daniela filed an acts of lasciviousness complaint against Archie Alemania before the Office of the City Prosecutor in Bacoor City, Cavite, last October 2024. As per her affidavit, the incident occurred at a party, and she felt violated by how the actor treated her all throughout that time.

In a previous article, Alemania denied the accusations and filed a counter-affidavit.

“I have to say mas guarded na ako, a bit. I try my very best to still act the same but siyempre hindi mo na yun maaalis sa akin na siyempre may trauma pa rin yan eh. So I just have to really be guarded and be more mindful and really choose the people that I open up to and that I talk to,” Rita said as she talked about the trauma from the incident.

In an update, a resolution was released by the Bacoor Prosecutor’s Office indicting Alemania for acts of lasciviousness in the case filed by Daniela. The indictment is “defined and penalized under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code.”

Daniela’s camp reacted, and according to Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, the actress is grateful for the Court’s decision. She is very happy about it, as it indicates being a step closer to the justice she deserves.

“She wants to thank all the people who supported her along the way albeit she prays for continues support and prayer as she elevates her legal battle in court.”

What happened between Rita and Archie?

Former Widow’s War co-stars Archie and Rita faced issues after the latter accused the former of violating her. The harassment happened after the Thanksgiving party that was organized by Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo for the whole cast of the series.

Alemania, who was drunk when the actress came to the party, has been expressing lewd words about her. When the party ended, he offered to take her home. She believed he was already sober, so she allowed him. But that was a wrong move.

Inside his car, he was touching her body in places he shouldn’t and even asked for a kiss from her. He also groped her chest. He touched her inappropriately, forcibly kissed her several times, and refused to release her from his grasp.
