Her mother was reportedly devastated, choking back tears beside her daughter’s body.

Meanwhile, producer Wang Wei Zhong, who is a close family friend of Barbie Hsu, revealed that the entire family is overwhelmed with grief and unable to accept the reality that the “Meteor Garden” star has passed away.

However, as the pillar of the family, Barbie Hsu’s mother has been trying to stay strong in order to complete the cremation procedures and bring her daughter’s ashes home for burial.

Answering to Taiwanese media in an interview, the actress’ mother said, “First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the concern everyone has shown for Barbie Hsu and our family during this difficult time. Since her passing, we have been deeply heartbroken. As a result, we have not been able to respond to calls from the media, colleagues, or friends. Please show us some sympathy. To bring Barbie home, we are facing numerous complicated legal procedures in Japan. Therefore, we ask for more time to resolve these matters abroad.”

Most notably, Barbie Hsu’s mother also pleaded with journalists and the public not to swarm the airport, funeral venue, or burial site when the family brings her daughter’s ashes back home. She shared that this was also one of Barbie Hsu’s wishes.

“My daughter loved peace and hated being followed and scrutinized in public. She never openly expressed this, but as her mother, I know her wishes well. Therefore, I hope everyone will understand and help us fulfill Barbie Hsu’s final wish,” she also stated.

On the other hand, according to the latest information from a tour guide, Barbie Hsu contracted influenza symptoms, including coughing and asthma, when she departed for Japan with her family on January 29th (the first day of Lunar New Year).
