Carla Abellana confirmed her grandmother’s death

Veteran actress Delia Razon, the grandmother of Kapuso actress Carla Abellana, passed away at 94.



Showbiz runs in Carla’s blood. She is the granddaughter of the former LVN Pictures star whose career in the Philippine entertainment industry lasted for seven decades. On March 16, through an Instagram post, Carla shared sad news about her grandmother.

The Kapuso actress shared an art card with her grandmother’s photo during her youth. “Celebrating the life of Lucy May G. Reyes ‘Delia Razon’.” the text on the art card stated. She was born on August 8, 1930 and died on March 15, 2025.

Carla Abellana received love and sympathy from her fellow celebrities such as veteran actresses Coney Reyes and Jackie Lou Blanco.

Based on the article in Inquirer, Delia Razon was born to a Filipina-Spanish mother and a German father. Her acting career started in 1949 through the movie Krus na Bituin. Late producer and businesswoman Dona Narcisa de Leon gave Delia’s screen name.

Among her notable films were “Rodrigo de Villa,” “Lapu-Lapu,” “Luksang Tagumpay,” “Prinsipe Teñoso,” “Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan?,” “Haplos,” and “Kailan Sasabihing Mahal Kita.

Delia won the Best Actress award at the 1957 FAMAS Awards for her performance in the movie “Luksang Tagumpay”. In 2009, she received the Lifetime Achievement Award. As of this writing, Carla has not announced yet Delia Razon’s wake and internment.

Meanwhile, Carla Abellana continues to showbiz her acting prowess in various projects given to her by her home network, GMA. The last series that she did was a murder mystery genre. In this series, she worked with former Kapamilya actress Bea Alonzo who is now a Kapuso. In September last year, she shared her struggle dealing with her health. She had sepsis, which was the reason for her hospital confinement.
