Cristine Reyes Speaks On Viral Post With Barbie Hsu

Famous actress Cristine Reyes has this to say after her post about Barbie Hsu’s death and her birthday went viral online.
Many people mourned the death of Barbie Hsu at the age of 48. She was well-known in the Philippines as Shan Cai and as a fan, actress Cristine Reyes was also heartbroken. As she expressed her sadness over this, she shared a photo she has with the Taiwanese actress but what caused it to become viral was the caption that came with it.
“Rest in peace Shancai, our childhood favorite. Also, Happy 36th to me today,” the caption said which created a loud buzz online. However, shortly after it had been shared, the actress took down the post. Too late though as a lot of people were able to get a screenshot.
Many people reacted and the actress did not like how some people criticized her with just one post.
In a story, she addressed the issue. She expressed her disappointment to those who mocked her and added how unfortunate it is to commit one small mistake. She wrote, “Kailangan palaging perfect. Bawal magkamali nowadays. May kalupitan na kapalit sa mga bagay kapag nagkamali e, di ba?”

She is also known as “Big S” famous for her feisty but endearing role in the 2001 hit series Meteor Garden. She worked with Jerry Yan as Daoming Si, Vic Chou as Huaze Lei, Vanness Wu as Meizuo, and Ken Chu as Ximen in this highly popular series.
She passed away on February 2 at the age of 48. According to her family, she contracted the flu from their trip to Japan and fell fatally due to pneumonia. After her cremation, her remains will be then sent to Taiwan.
She first married Chinese entrepreneur Wang Xiaofei in March 2011 but divorced in 2021. After her divorce, she got back with her ex-boyfriend Koo Jun Yup and they tied the knot in February 2022.
