Darryl Yap shared a never-before-seen photo of Charito Solis

Controversial director Darryl Yap revealed the friendship between late actresses Pepsi Paloma and Charito Solis.

Direk Darryl’s controversial Pepsi Paloma has been stirring the entertainment industry. Its short teaser led to a legal battle between him and veteran comedian-host Vic Sotto.

After Vic’s name was mentioned in the teaser, connected to the r@pe case filed by Pepsi which became one of the most controversial showbiz issues in the 80s.

The teaser featured the supposed conversation between Pepsi and Charito. The older actress asked the younger actress if it was true that she was r@ped by Vic and she answered “Oo.” This prompted Bossing Vic to file 19 counts of cyber libel against Direk Darryl Yap.

In a recent Facebook Post, the controversial director featured an old photo of Charito Solis. He said in the caption of his post that Pepsi and Charito shared a deep friendship.

“Lingid sa kaalaman ng mga nagmamarunong—ang pagkakaibigan ni Charito Solis at Pepsi Paloma ay higit pa sa pagtuturingan ng magkapwa-artista,” the director said.

He also said that Charito was Pepsi’s friend who she could lean on when it came to problems and she went through in showbiz.

The director shared what Charito did after Pepsi died. He said that Charito went to the morgue with the late actress Jaclyn Jose.

“Sa kabila ng katotohanan na naroon ang mga kaibigan nya at manager… si Charito Solis ang tumubos sa bangkay ni Pepsi,” Direk Darryl revealed.

He said that it was also Charito who took care of the funeral despite she and Pepsi had not talked with each other for several years because of their issues. With this, the director said that people need someone like Charito Solis as a friend.

“Hindi man laging nakakasama, hindi maingay, nakatampuhan man, hindi ka iiwan hanggang sa dulo,” Direk Darryl said. He also said in his comment that there was the first time this photo was made public.

Meanwhile, Darryl Yap and Vic Sotto attended the hearing last week of the petition for a writ of habeas data filed by the latter. The veteran comedian-host wanted the director to take down posts and materials online about the movie mentioning his name. A gag order was also issued by the court which meant that both parties were no longer allowed to say anything publicly about the case.
