Doctor Reportedly Lost His After Drinking Beverage Delivered to His Office

A doctor tragically lost his life after consuming a beverage delivered to his clinic in Malate, Manila.

Drink poisoning happens when someone consumes a harmful substance through a liquid. This can occur by accident or on purpose and might involve contaminated drinks, toxic chemicals, or beverages that have been tampered with.

Common causes include spoiled drinks, unclean water, or drinks mixed with cleaning agents. Sometimes, excessive alcohol consumption, especially when it contains harmful substances like methanol, can also lead to poisoning.

In some cases, drinks are intentionally spiked with poisons, drugs, or other dangerous chemicals.

Recently, a medical doctor died after drinking a beverage from a patient, which was delivered to this clinic.

The 43-year-old victim identified as Dr. Khaimar Ismael Jumadair, owned the Khai Aesthetic Clinic located on the second floor of the Tetra Building at the corner of A. Vasquez and Pedro Gil Streets.

According to reports from the Manila Police District Homicide Section, the incident happened around 3 p.m. on Monday, December 3. While Dr. Jumadair was attending to his clinic duties, a food delivery rider arrived with a drink reportedly from a popular coffee shop.

The beverage, sent by someone identified as “Gladys,” was accepted by the doctor, who recognized the sender as one of his patients. He took a sip of the drink and immediately noticed something unusual about its taste.

“Ano bang lasa nito? Tikman n’yo nga!” the victim said.

Moments later, he began to vomit and hurried to the bathroom, where he eventually lost consciousness.

Clinic staff quickly rushed him to the Philippine General Hospital (PGH), but he was declared dead on arrival.

Authorities have taken the victim’s remains for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Investigations are ongoing to uncover whether foul play was involved and to trace the origins of the suspicious drink.
