Veteran Filipino actress Gloria Romero has passed away at 91.

Movie Queen Gloria Romero has passed away at the age of 91. The cause of her death has not been disclosed yet.

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) has recognized actress Gloria Romero as among the ‘outstanding Filipino artists and industry pillars’. They honored Romero “for being more than just a movie queen immortalized by landmark Filipino films cutting through decades of our popular culture and history”.

However, just recently, a piece of heartbreaking news surfaced.

The movie queen died at the age of 91 and the cause of her death has not been revealed yet.

“Rest well, our Movie Queen, Tita GLORIA ROMERO. Praying for the repose of your soul & for strength for Maritess Gutierrez, Chris & the whole family during this very difficult time,” a post said.

Romero started her career between the late 40s and early 50s. She last appeared in the Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Rainbow’s Sunset” in 2018 and won the Best Actress Award for her role as Sylvia.

To recall, Romero married Juancho Gutierrez at the Santuario de San Antonio in Forbes Park, Makati in the year 1960 but 12 years later, they separated. The legendary actress did not marry again.

In 2000, she was the one to take care of Juancho when he suffered a diabetic stroke leaving him paralyzed. She took care of him until he died in 2005.
