Gloria Romero Passed Away, Daughter Shares Wake Details
Legendary actress Gloria Romero passed away and here are some details about her wake.
Maritess Gutierrez, daughter of actress Gloria Romero who just died recently, shared details regarding her wake.
Gloria Borrego Galla is a towering figure in the Philippine entertainment industry. She was the Queen of Philippine Cinema and she was known by many as Gloria Romero who left a a legacy that will continue to inspire generations of actors and filmmakers.

On January 25, Romero’s death was confirmed. She passed away at the age of 91 and the cause of her death was not disclosed.
Through a heartfelt Facebook post, her daughter Maritess Gutierrez confirmed the news.
The post said:
“TO OUR DEAREST FAMILY, RELATIVES, AND FRIENDS: It is with great sadness to announce the passing of my beloved Mother, Gloria Galla Gutierrez aka Gloria Romero, who peacefully joined our Creator earlier today.”
The wake will be held at Arlington Memorial Chapel, Hall A, on Araneta Avenue, Quezon City. A public viewing was also scheduled. The late actress’ fans and supporters can pay their respects on Monday and Tuesday between 9 AM and 1 PM.
Romero was born in 1933 in Denver Colorado. She married actor Juancho Gutierrez after they met during a movie but after 12 years of being together, they separated.
As an actress, among her notable appearances was on the long-running television sitcom Palibhasa Lalake (1991).
She received the FAMAS Best Actress award for Dalagang Ilocana (1954), Best Supporting Actress for Nagbabagang Luha (1988), and Best Actress for Tanging Yaman (2000). From the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP), she earned the Best Supporting Actress award for Saan Nagtatago ang Pag-Ibig? (1987) and Best Actress honor for her film Tanging Yaman (2000).
She appeared in over 250 movies and TV productions and was widely regarded as the “First Lady of Philippine Cinema”.
