Dingdong Dantes Asked About Joining Politics

DINGDONG DANTES – Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes was recently asked if he has any plans to join politics. Here’s what the actor-host said.

Jose Sixto Raphael Gonzalez Dantes III, also known by his stage name Dingdong Dantes, is a Filipino actor, television host, dancer, commercial model, and film producer who presently serves as a GMA Network exclusive talent. Along with running his own production company called AgostoDos Pictures, he is the founding chairman of the YesPinoy Foundation.

Dingdong married Marian Rivera in the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Cubao, Quezon City, on December 30, 2014. The GMA network bestowed upon them the honor of being dubbed as its primetime king and queen after years of hard work and the shown success of their television projects, both individually and together. Their nuptials were dubbed “The Royal Wedding.” They are blessed with two adorable kids, Zia and Sixto.

In the season finale episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda this Friday, April 21, Dingdong Dantes excitedly joined the interview with King of Talk Boy Abunda. Besides being a father, and an in-demand actor, one of the things they talked about was politics.

One of Boy Abunda’s questions is whether Dingdong Dantes intends to run for public office at the same time he is busy in show business. He said, “Gusto ko pong aminin that I really thought na sana [there’s a chance] for me to do more for the Filipino people over and beyond my work here in the industry pero never pa umabot sa punto para masabi kong, ‘Sige, gagawin ko ito.’”

“It’s because I regard public office, especially kapag sinabing public service ‘yun talaga ang top priority. I recognize na it’s not that easy, it will require much of your time, much of your energy, your love, your passion, of yourself, and it takes much sacrifice,” he added.

Dingdong Dantes said he still has many duties to fulfill such as being a good father, husband, and good citizen. “Isang bagay ang malinaw sa akin ngayon, that I have multiple roles to fulfill, literally and figuratively, because I want to be the best father to my children, the best husband to Marian, a good son, a responsible member of this beautiful industry, while striving to be a good citizen of this country each and every day,” said Dingdong.

After this, Abunda asked Dingdong again, “I like your discussion Dong about being many, pero hindi ka nagsasara ng pintuan?”

“I think it’s not for me to say but the circumstance,” Dingdong replied with a smile.
