Sharon Cuneta says she and KC Concepcion are estranged: ‘I’m very, very hurt’

Sharon Cuneta opened up about being estranged from KC Concepcion at this point, saying she’s “very, very hurt.”

In a TikTok video shared by entertainment reporter MJ Marfori, the Megastar bared she’s going through some problems with her eldest child without going into much detail. “Ano man ang problema namin ng panganay ko, because at this point, we’re estranged, and I’m very, very hurt,” she said, “pero there are things na tama na ‘yun, there are things na amin na lang.”

The singer emphasized that she will always love her daughter no matter what. “Pagbali-baliktarin mo man ang mundo, mahal mo ‘yung anak mo eh,” she continued. “Tiis-tiis na lang bilang nanay, pero dadating sa point na ayaw ko na ring isiksik ‘yung sarili ko sa ayaw sa akin. I’m tired na.”

Her revelation came a few days after she and her husband, Kiko Pangilinan, took legal action against showbiz insider Cristy Fermin. According to GMA News’ Nelson Canlas, they are suing Cristy for “broadcasting baseless and malicious statements regarding their personal and family affairs.”

While it’s unclear what issue the case stemmed from, the filing came after Cristy talked about how Sharon and KC’s on-and-off relationship was due to the latter misplacing a valuable possession by the Megastar.
KC is the only daughter of Sharon with actor Gabby Concepcion. The former pair tied the knot in 1984, three years after the premiere of their film, Dear Heart. They welcomed KC a year later but got legally separated in 1987. Their marriage was annulled in 1993.

Sharon and KC have been open about having a stormy relationship in the past.

In June 2022, KC revealed online that they started to patch things up on their way to a much better space together. “I hear about so many mother-daughters that never get the chance to heal their relationships nor resolve issues, and I feel lonely for them. I’m so thankful we’re able to speak with each other with mutual care and respect, and now talk like girlfriends and found our way back to each other,” she said, adding that “there is nothing like having your own mother’s love.”

Since then, they have been spotted spending time together as well as Sharon’s family with Kiko. In September 2023, however, KC confirmed that she unfollowed her stepdad as well as her half-sister Frankie on Instagram, saying that she wanted to have “peace of mind.”
