‘It’s not an issue’: Angel Locsin shrugs off body shaming comments
MANILA — Actress Angel Locsin on Wednesday shrugged off body shaming comments she received, stressing that there is nothing wrong with her figure.
“Yes, malaki ako. Eh, ano naman ngayon? Bakit may kawalan ba? Minsan kung makalait pa ‘yung iba, tinitingnan ko ‘yung profile picture, excuse me naman sa ’yo ah,” Locsin said in jest in an interview with Ogie Diaz.
“Ayaw mo namang manlait ng tao di ba? Parang okay, sige, minsan naman mapapa-smile ako na ouch nahiritan ako pero pagtingin ko sa profile pic, okay lang,” she added.
Locsin said her body figure does not define her, noting that her husband Neil Arce accepts her no matter what.
“I’m trying but I’m not trying my best. I don’t really care. I’m Angel Locsin, na-develop ko ‘yung sarili ko nang kung anuman ako ngayon, I don’t really care.
“What I mean is I don’t care kung ano’ng opinyon ng ibang tao. Okay ako, eh. Ang ganda ko sa paningin ng asawa ko,” she added.
Locsin said one’s body should not define her as an artist.
“Darating din tayo diyan; kung papayat ka, papayat ka. But it’s not an issue. Ang pagiging Angel Locsin ko ay hindi nasusukat kung gaano ako kabigat,” she said.
“Alam kong ang dami kong na-prove sa sarili ko, sa ibang tao, okay na ako roon. Bahala na kayo kung ano gusto niyong sabihin. Okay lang, wala po akong pakialam.”
