Jake Zyrus recalled this dark past

Singer Jake Zyrus revealed in his book that an uncle abused him when he was just six years old.

Jake, formerly known as Charice Pempengco, rose to fame from a singing contest. That opened a door for him in the entertainment industry. Back then, he was already starting the global music scene.

Eventually, he took a major transition in his life. He showed his real gender orientation and reintroduced himself as a transman with his new name. Although this received negative reactions online, Jake received support from his community and avid supporters.

In a recent social media post by online personality Xian Gaza, he featured the book “I Am Jake” in which the singer mentioned a dark experience when he was still young.

As a six-year-old girl back then, Charice was so powerless. A portion of the book stated, “I was six years old when an uncle began s=xually abusing me.”

The singer narrated how the “abuse” started and wished so hard that it would end. Back then, the young Charice thought it was the first and the last, but it happened again and again while they were living with that uncle.

At that time, the young Charice was hoping that other members of their family would witness what was happening but it did not happen. The young girl felt powerless and was afraid to reveal what was happening because she was told, “If you tell anyone, I’ll kill you.”

Jake Zyrus said that this is something that his uncle is capable of doing because he said, “violence runs in our blood.”

15 years later, while they were in the car, Charice’s mother said that uncle would visit them and this triggered her. She was asked by her mother why her mood suddenly changed and when she revealed that her uncle did something to her, her mother did not believe it. “She told me I had a lot of nerve to be making up stories about the old man,” Jake shared.
